Compare series for all common refrigerants and heat transfer fluids
BITZER heat exchangers and pressure vessels cover a wide capacity range for refrigeration systems, air conditioning systems, and heat pumps. The portfolio includes condensers, evaporators, gas coolers, liquid receivers, oil separators, oil coolers, and pulsation mufflers. Use this overview page to compare suitable series by refrigerant, secondary fluid, approvals, and design size. Many versions are available for HFCs, HFOs, NH₃, CO₂, and hydrocarbons, with options for different materials, operating conditions, and marine requirements.
Water-Cooled Condensers
Water-cooled condensers from BITZER are reliable components for refrigeration systems, air conditioning systems, and heat pumps. Nine series, with standard capacities up to 2 600 kW, cover fresh water, industrial water, and seawater applications – including high-temperature heat pumps. Depending on the series, many models are available for HFCs, HFOs, NH₃, and hydrocarbons such as propane (R290). Different diameters, pipe lengths, approvals, and certifications support system-specific selection for stationary and marine applications.
- For fresh water/industrial water: series KE, K, CXP, CRF, and P for hydrocarbons
- For seawater: series K-B, CXPM, McDEW, and P for hydrocarbons
Evaporators
BITZER shell and tube evaporators support high-, medium-, and low-temperature applications down to −40°C. Direct expansion evaporators with U-tube or single-pass design deliver low-approach temperature differences, while hybrid and flooded evaporators provide high efficiency. Different series are available with various materials, approvals, and capacities for HFC, HFO, NH₃, and hydrocarbon applications.
- Direct expansion evaporators: series SQD, DH, PureCooler, DM with capacity up to 2 000 kW
- Hybrid and flooded evaporators: series FEV, RFV with capacity up to 5 000 kW
Water-Cooled Gas Coolers
GK water gas coolers are designed for CO₂ applications and can be used as:
- gas coolers in transcritical systems;
- heat recovery heat exchangers; or
- condensers in subcritical CO₂ systems.
CO₂ flows on the tube side, while water or antifreeze mixtures flow on the shell side. The counterflow concept allows for small temperature margins between the two liquids and high performance in both transcritical and subcritical operation.
Water-Cooled Oil Coolers
BITZER offers water-cooled oil coolers for fresh water, industrial water, and seawater applications. Depending on the series, they are suitable for HFC, HFO, and hydrocarbon refrigerants such as propane. Low pressure drop, reduced energy consumption, and multiple diameter/pipe length combinations support efficient system integration. Approved up to 150°C on the oil side.
Liquid Receivers
BITZER liquid receivers are available as horizontal and vertical series for HFC, HFO, hydrocarbon, NH₃, and CO₂ applications. With volumes up to 550 l, they support a wide range of refrigeration and air conditioning requirements. Operating temperatures from −10°C to 120°C and a maximum allowable pressure of 45 bar enable flexible use across many system designs.
Oil Separators
BITZER oil separators are available as vertical and horizontal solutions for single compressors and compound systems. Series for HFC, HFO, hydrocarbon, and NH₃ applications are offered with one, two, or three stages, as well as versions for flooded systems. High efficiency and low oil carry-over support reliable operation in full-load and part-load conditions. Maximum oil charge of up to 310 l.
Pulsation Mufflers
BITZER pulsation mufflers reduce discharge gas pulsation in discharge lines and help lower critical vibration levels. This reduces the risk of leaks and pipe fractures in refrigeration systems. Versions are available for discharge gas lines with connection diameters from 22 to 80 mm.
